“Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.” And that greatest loss came in the form of Jasdev Singh Bhatia’s death in the lives of many of his family and friends. A bright light was suddenly extinguished by the hands of fate when this 24 year old international student died in a road accident in Sydney. After his father’s death he was the only bread winner of his family of a sister and mother. His unfortunate death left a big vacuum in his family. This young student’s life was deeply rooted in Punjabi culture who was a very good folk singer and a passionate Bhangra dancer. He was proud to be Punjabi and wanted to nurture Punjabi culture on Australian soil.

The president of GOPIO Sydney Ms. Lucky Singh requested the people of Indian community and raised funds for his mother. Mr. Rajinder Chhibbar, a member of GOPIO Sydney went all the way to his hometown in Yamunanagar in India and presented a cheque of $1250.00 to his mother.
